We are a friendly worshipping community, meeting weekly at St Benedict’s Catholic Church in Chapel Street, Buckfastleigh (TQ11 0AQ), served by our priest Fr Francis Straw, from Buckfast Abbey.

We warmly invite you to join us on Saturdays at 5pm for Mass, followed by tea and coffee. Children are very welcome to enjoy our quiet activity area during the service.

A special note to holiday visitors: Are you reading this whilst on holiday? The congregation at St Benedict’s is always pleased to welcome visitors to our Saturday 5pm Mass. Come and find us. We look forward to meeting you.

Friday August 15th Solemnity of the Assumption of Our Blessed Virgin Mary: We are reminded that Mary, chosen by God to bring us Jesus, holds a unique place in Heaven, was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory, so that she might be the more fully conformed to her Son, the Lord of lords and conqueror of sin and death. Holy Mass will be celebrated in this parish as follows:

  • 10.15 a.m. Our Lady of Lourdes & St.Petroc, Ashburton, TQ13 7AT
  • 12.05 p.m. Abbey Blessed Sacrament Chapel
  • 5 p.m. The Abbey Church
  • 7.30 p.m. St. Dunstan, South Brent,TQ10 9AQ

The Chosen: We are looking forward to the general release of Season 5 of this wonderful TV series which brings us the life of Jesus, told through the eyes of those who knew Him. Look out for further details in the autumn.

Buckfastleigh Foodbank: As we continue to support the Foodbank with our donation point at St Benedict’s, we thank parishioners for their generosity. A list of items particularly needed is available in the church or on the Buckfastleigh Foodbank website.
